rello wrote:
[cross-posting removed] sorry dave it didn't work clipped in the virge pci rebooted xp picked it up clipped in the radeon 9200 beside it in the agp slot rebooted and ran install and it errored out with a "this video adaptor is not compatible"....the motherboard is a gigabyte 8ST667 Rev 3.0.. weird thing is the display is fine with all modes and colour depths working.... might have to just leave it...but it is wrong and it ****s me....... fraid this one has me stumped anyone else?? Safe mode is your friend when it comes to removing old display drivers. Boot into safe mode with the new card installed, (don't put the pci card in), remove the entry (entries) in system / device manager, search for and delete any files relating to your old card and reboot. Cancel out of the New Hardware Found box and install the new drivers, reboot and everything should be cool. -- Ian |
