Default Memory

I"am using a compaq presario type/model 5BW154
In my system there are two mouldings for memory.
In one bank i've 256 mb and in the other i've 64mb.
What i want is to replace the 64 mb with 512kb.
However the system does not allow such an increase and sticks to a
value of 256kb.
Is my system limited to 512kb and is there a possiebility to increase
the memory.

Sorry, but 512MB is max for your model. You can replace the 64 with a 256
but not a 512.

Nope. If a PC has a max of 512MB and has 2 DIMM slots, it normally means
each slot can handle up to a 256 MB DIMM.
