Default Presario 7594 needs to be upgraded

Hey all,
I have a Presario 7594 and I need some help. It has a socketed CPU,
and I would like to know how fast of a Pentium 3 I can use on it. Next
do I need to change any motherboard settings to make it work? Then
what kind of memory do I need to use? PC 100, or PC 133? Thanks for
all your help.

According to the product specs on the HP web site, the CPU is a 566MHz Celeron.
Without spending really serious money, you can upgrade it using either a 1.1GHz
Celeron or a 933MHz Pentium 3. Above these speeds, the CPU operating voltage
is lower and most likely not supported by the motherboard.

The motherboard chipset is an Intel 810, so you can use either PC100 or PC133
memory with either CPU... Ben Myers

What would perfrom better? The 933 PIII or the 1.1 Celeron? Can I just
swap chips withought jumpers?

The 933, due to being a true p3, and it has a faster front side bus.
Might not notice however.

I think I'll use what is cheaper here. I think I will use win 2000.
But my choices are ME, 2000, XP. I think 2000 would suite it best
