Default Cannot boot systeme on a deskpro ep series

Hello,

On an old Compaq Deskpro EP series 6300 (given by a compagny ) I decided to
upgrade memory, after reboot, the BIOS was automatically updated to his new
memory capacity but following a bad insertion of the processor (in same time
than memory insertion, I wanted to see more detail of a slot1... big
error!!!),
the PC does not reboot anymore. I change the battery without any effect and
suddently I remenbered to reinsert processor (OK it was bad insert). The PC
reboot but it stopped just after memory test. If I stop the memory test (ESC
key) I can see "type F12 to enter BIOS" on the screen but it has no effect.
My question is : How to solve the problem? I have save the BIOS
configuration (by a BIOS function) on floppy many months ago, how to use it?
Can anyone help me? Thanks from JP

Most often on Compaqs, it's F10 to enter the BIOS, not F12.
