Default Replacing The CDRW On Compaq?

I have a Compaq 7598 PIII 600Mhz

It has a CD ROM drive and a CDRW

The CDRW needs to be replaced and was wondering if it might be a problem if
I replaced it with a faster burner which also can read (not write) DVD. The
current one can only write at 4x.

Or would it be better to try to get a cheap burner that's similiar to what I
have?

Would this one work?

or this with a DVD

Drives are drives. Any will work.

Most any drive will work, but the 600MHz processor speed may impose a limit on
the speed at which a CD can be burned, maybe 16x or so... Ben Myers
