Prescott cpu in laptop
"Richard" wrote:
As you know, Prescott cpu will be available around november for the desktop. How long will it take before this cpu is available for laptop? I am planning on buying a new computer in a few months and I would prefer to switch to laptop but I do not want to wait forever for Prescott... From what I've heard, the Centrino platform (Banias chip) has been *very* successful in the laptop market. That, plus the fact that Prescott requires a *lot* of power, would seem to indicate that Prescott will not be found in laptops any time soon. However, the next chip in the Centrino family (Dothan) should be out sometime early next year, so if you're waiting for the latest and greatest laptop, that's what you should be waiting for.
