Default Warranty extended? outlet store

The Dell Outlet store seems to be offering default
included-in-price 3yr mail-in service on laptops.

It used to be one year.

It's actually cheap to offer, because most
failures happen in the first year. If it survives
that, it's probably good for three.

First year failures are about one in 15, I'd
guess.

Or the offer might be a mistake.
