Default Dead Hard Drive question

I have a hard drive that's "dead" and its making a loudish clicking sound
when its turned on.
Its got about 3 years of photos that isn't backed up. (I know, I know)
Any guesses on whether this drive is capable of being repaired by a
magician.

The drive is a Maxtor Diamond Max Plus 9 60Gb ATA two years old.

Yes, you should be able to get the data recovered.

Better be sitting down when you get the price tho.

Magician as MAGnetic media recovery technICIAN?

Would you pay a 1000USD for recovery?
