Try Motherbaord Monitor - this also costs nothing and is the best
motherboard monitoring program out there in my opinion. It is used by the majority of overclockers. Web site: http://mbm.livewiredev.com/ David "Kristopher" wrote in message news Does anyone know of a simple program which tells the CPU temperature in Windows XP. thanks, Kristopher |

For the life of me I can't get MBM to work on my machine. I have an 8RDA+ with an xp2500+. It doesn't give me any temp readings no matter how I try to set it up. The Hmonitor program set right up and reads all of the temps voltages and fan speeds. Got any ideas what might be wrong? Besides the fact that I don't know what I'm doing. Sorry, dunno, but according to the mbm-supported mainboards list, it should just work. |EP8 RDA+ W83697HF Winbond 3 Winbond 2 So as I see it there are a couple of options. a) MBM doesn't recognise the sensorchip b) You forgot to tell it which hardwaresensor to connect to each sensor-readout (by default, none is selected) Easiest way to check - go into mbm5, general, system info, and hit the little computer on the bottom. It will generate a report, which will say what sensorchip is being used, possible sensors, selected sensors, and their readouts. |

Go into your BIOS and see if it reports any temparatures. If it does, then, assuming you picked the right sensor, you should get a reading in MBM. Worst comes to worst - you may have to go thru all the sensors available in MBM. I would recommend that you decrease the sample time so you don't have to wait a long time between each reading. -=tom=- |
