Default Best place to custom build a PC?

Hi, where's the best place to buy a custom built PC? Would go with Mesh but
have read really bad reviews and Dell are quite expensive.
Cheers,
Tim

Good question!. I need to recommend somewhere to my friends parents. My
choice at the moment is Dell.
Didn't someone from this group put a list together not long ago of all the
vendors?.
Can someone post the url?
Thanks

I just ordered a completely custom pc from my local retailer ideal
computing (as I have done before), although their website is a
semi-seperate operation and in my opinion an utter waste of time in it's
current form (http://www.idealcomputing.co.uk/). Around the area,
though, they are well respected and really deserve to get themselves
sorted out. I don't see you coming up from Wales to get a PC from the
shop though

The Dollar has collapsed in value so all Dells prices have shot up to take into
account the exchange rate, things should settle down in a months time.

My brother keeps mentioning http://www.nethighstreet.com/COMPUTERS/ as he's
been thinking of getting a new computer and someone recommended them. I've
never seen them mentioned in the newsgroup so don't know about service but
their prices seem good and they've won plenty of awards. They have a basic
spec for a series of machines listed but when you click on the more info
link it takes you to a form where you can chop and change things.

Anyone had any dealing with them?

Uh? When the dollar was $1.50 a $1000 computer should be £667.
Now it's $1.72 it should be £581

Think he means that Dells components are costing more, Dell are US based but
components are imported from Asia.

£365 for an Athlon2000XP and on-board graphics, you'd do
better building a machine yourself or using
www.ebay.co.uk.

Ebay for PC parts. Haha. No chance, unless it truly is an /individual/
selling parts /they have used/.

Dell buy parts in dollars under contracts that can run a number of years, when the
dollar falls they have to pay much higher prices.
