does anyone make a 500 GB drive? 1 TB?
standard 7200 rpm, 8 MB buffer, etc?

Maxtor just came out with a 300GB.
I believe 400GBs (Hitachi ?) are just being or about to be launched.
Win XP PRO with all updating "should" be able to work with it.
I would assume they would ship IDE controllers with those 400GB.

PATA=Parallel ATA=old fashioned ordinary IDE.

SATA=Serial ATA=the latest and greatest

SATA is faster than PATA.

There's a link on that page to the "manufacturer" of the devices shown. If
you go to that page and read between the lines it's pretty clear that it
exists mainly to separate venture capitalists from their money.

John -

So Venture Capitalist shouldn't invest in new ideas or creations, say,
the United States of America, Medical Research, etc. ?

I really show your understanding of risk capital investing as an
opportunity that sometimes leads to something called an IPO.
Failures are expected along with succeses by the way.

Venture Capitalist should see what is real thing and what is pseudo-science
babble.

Of course, there are VC that will give money for another "guaranteed data
compression miracle" technology or to "digital film" contraption.
