make a CD-RW audio Y cable?
I want to have 2 CD-RWs playable ( not at the same time though). I
have one CD audio connector on mobo. It also has an AUX audio connector I want for DVD player audio. Can I just make a Y cable from 2 CD-RW audio cables? |

Try it without the cables. Most computers that are fairly new don't need
cables. I have quit using cables to sound card to cd rom for years now. They do sell a y cable if you want one. Do a google search and you will find one. wrote in message ... It's a brand new Intel mobo, D865. It has onboard 6.1 audio, so maybe
I don't need cables. How do they do then, over the IDE bus? There must be some audio stuff on the CD that came with the mobo? I'm not done building it yet, so I can't try it. Still need HDs and OS. I think it's about time you seriously considered buying a real soundcard...

Cool. I found it in Win98, but it's greyed out, saying may not
available for all CD roms. Can't wait to finish my new system and try it out. Thanks for the info. On Tue, 20 Jan 2004 03:03:30 GMT, kony wrote: On Mon, 19 Jan 2004 19:44:29 -0500, wrote: Oh. I plan on installing XP. How would I select audo over IDE? With XP it "may" be enabled by default. The setting is in Device Manager - (Drive) Properties - "Enable Digital CD Audio for this CD-ROM Device" box. The same setting "might" also be found elsewhere in windows, it seems sometimes there's more than one route to access the same controls. For example you may find the same "Enable Digital CD..." box in Control Panel - Sounds and Audio Devices - (drive) Properties. |
