Default Inspiron - keyboard quality?

Considering buying either the Inspiron 1100 or 5100. I can't get to any Dell
kiosk store to test out the keyboard, so hope some of you can enlighten me about
the overall feel/quality. Looked at a few Toshiba, HP, and Sony laptops but all
had very "loose" keyboards. Even with fairly light typing the whole keyboard
seemed to have a lot of movement/flex which I don't think I could ever get used
to. Are the Dell keyboards any better? Or perhaps an IBM thinkpad?

Thanks for your advice,
BT

i would say they keyboards are about the same with the exception of the high
end thinkpads. however the thinkpads are two to three times the price of
the 1100 so on one hand not really a fair comparison. with any modern
laptop you can easily connect a usb keyboard that is to your liking. in
fact there are even roll up keyboards that you might like and that you could
easily take with you when you travel.
