Upgrading A Laptop
Hi,
I have been building and upgrading desktops for over 10 years but know virtually nothing about laptops. We have a NEC Versa SX w 266MHz Pentium II that could use more speed. Is it possible to replace the motherboard with one that would take a 500MHz CPU (I assume the maximum for re-ATX) as you can do for a desktop? Thanks, Gary |

it would be cheaper to sell it and buy another ex govt unit
or from an auction or university notice board some units have cpu's that unclip like desktops but the majority are hard wired some ranges of laptops can have interchangeable MB's but that is rare and even harder to get the parts at a good price don't waste your time but if you do pull apart a laptop its like a Swiss watch write down every part you remove and map it for easy re assembly or u end up like me and have parts left over "Gary Brown" wrote in message ...
