Data Robotics "Drobo". Anyone ever heard of this?
Just wondering if anyone has used or seen this so-called "raid alternative."
They call it a "storage robot." No, I am not spamming for this company, I actually just read about them in PC Photo's enewsletter, and was wondering if anyone out there has heard anything about this storage solution, good or bad. Link: http://www.drobo.com/products.aspx#products_nav Later, G7 |

Presumably, they use a RAID6 technoology, and you can dynamically allocate available storage. They have a self-replicating feature that can move data from one physical disk to another. They even show streaming while replicating. REmoval of a disk allows the array to rebuild... Look for it on Digg. |

She started with two 250GB drives and is getting ready to add 2 more. It's a bit pricey but works as advertised. She likes it because it's easy to add capacity. I would choose something different but as long as she's happy.... |
