Default Harddrive for Gateway Profile

Hi,

A friend of mine has a fairly old Gateway Profile machine. It
doesn't say whether it's Profile I or II. I wonder what kind of hard
drive this machine uses. Is it just generic hard drive or laptop
hard drive? My friend wants to change to a bigger hard drive.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I purchased a profile 4 for the love of my life as a gift last year, and it
was a standard IDE hard drive and very easy to change if needed. Hope this
helps.

the profile 1 and 1.5 uses laptop hard drives. I'm not sure what size as in
thickness they take, but I used a 9.5mm in my 1.5.

If I remember correctly, when you take off the back cover, it is located in
the upper right side of the machine with a caddy that pulls out. The drive
can be upgraded as the drive I had in mine before I got rid of it was a 20GB
drive.
