If they can't afford the £50, i understand companies like "The Computer World" aka Time can probably accommodate 'budgets' ;-) If they claim that the £50 is not paid extra for the laptop, but for the inspection as a different transaction, then there might actually be a problem: In that case it doesn't really matter who does the inspection; the company implies that their laptops 'should' have zero missing pixels, and this is the type of laptops they're selling. |

Currently 2 killfiled for proving his definition of paper is wrong and looking at it about 6 pending :-) Thanks for that - it really is an entertaining read. I haven't really bothered to check, but is he some kind of usenet newbie? He certainly behaves like it. I s'pose if he is we should make allowances. g. |

I'm not going to concern myself any further with wondering exactly what your problem is with the service on offer, or the fee being asked therein. Then don't. To me, it is very simple; pay the fee if you want the service, don't if you don't, or shop elsewhere. Anyone who creates argument out of that is a few bricks short of a full load. I'm just rephrasing what you've written. If its not a surcharge, but an inspection service, then it doesn't matter who are doing it; you're entitled to find the cheapest provider or do it yourself for nothing. The company is then implying that all their laptops should satisfy the result of this 'inspection service'. |
