Yes, there should be a BIOS ID string displayed at POST, that could help. Otherwise there may be a sticker(s) or silkscreening on the board, or by looking up the specs of the system it can in, or if it's an intel chipset but 3rd party manufacturer, make note of the manufacturer and chipset, go to the manufacturer's website and search for spec and visually similar boards. |

I think he's asking if he can be tracked by his mobo serial number when he visits porn sites Dave. -- ~misfit~ |

No RustiK, your mainboard serial number isn't trackable on the 'net, we had to use other methods. ;-) |

You're safe mate, they can't track you by what's in your BIOS without major spyware/trojans on your system. Download and use AdAware and SpyBot Search and Destroy regularly. Some sites will sneak stuff onto your PC without you knowing. -- ~misfit~ |

wrote: ThanX for your answer ? For information, may you axplain me why a mainboard serial number is not trackable on the net ??? Same reason your shoes aren't trackable, because there's no mechanism in place to do it. Remember back when intel tried to implement that in the P3 CPUs? If/when that happens, you'll hear about it. |
