Default Display pausing

My new Creative Blaster 4 MX420 PCI (64mb) seems to be causing my screen to
lock up for upto 5 seconds every so often. Is this an over-heating issue or
something else? My onboard TNT never had this problem. Is it something that
I have to get used to because the PCI bus is slower than the AGP I was used
to before? I think 5 seconds is unreasonable - the rest of my system is
reasonably decent (512mb RAM, 1.3Ghz processor) and so I'm convinced its
just the new card...

That kind of pause, then being able to resume using the system, is
often the result of IDE read/write problems... check your cables and
drives in case you accidentally disturbed something during the video
card install.

Hmm, seemed to have pinpointed it down to the Nview software that comes with
this card. Disabling Nview sorts it out (or seems to have so far).
