Dell technician certification

Can anyone tell me from their experience whether the Dell technician
(laptops) certification is worth the money for the online course and
the test cost?

The laptop and desktop exams you sit on the web site
https://dcse.dell.com/login.asp are easy - especially if you have read the
manuals on this site that the questions are written from.
I will generally look at a service manual on
http://support.ap.dell.com/ap/en/home.asp if it is a laptop I haven't seen
before. That is generally all I need as I worked on Toshiba & IBM laptops
back in the 486 days..
To quantify if it is worth the money is not so easy. Dell are now insisting
that their DSP's are 'qualified' to a Dell measured standard. Plus
qualifications are good to have obtained come pay review time.

Servers.
The product tests for associate server are also fairly basic. It starts
getting harder on Master DCSE, robotic tape drives and EMC|SAN. You will
need the instructor led courses and quite a bit of expereince
