Wireless Laserjet?

I have a LaserJet attached to a 2.4 GHz tower via USB. Also I have this
tower connected to two other PCs, one via Linksys wire and the other (a
laptop) via Linksys wireless. If I want to print to the LaserJet from the
laptop I must first power up the tower.

Are there any add-ons which will allow me to print to the always-on LaserJet
without having to first power up the tower?

You need a print server: yet another little box. It connects your printer
to your LAN, sharing the printer resource over the network. They come in
wired and wireless flavors. I use a D-Link DP-300U. Very convenient!

Get a print server, or perhaps your Laserjet supports
networking with an add-on card.

You may be able to use a wireless router with built in print server to
connect all of your machines to the internet and printer (and of course each
other). That would allow any machine to print with just that machine needing
to be on. If you want to be able to print from the laptop with just the
laptop being on then any print server used must be capable of wireless
connectivity whereas from the other machines its cable connected - hence the
need for both means of connection for any print server used.

I use an SMC Barricade unit which was cheap and works very well. I'm unsure
if they're available where you live though (I'm in the UK).
