Cute Tommy.
I have no reason to believe that XP is much better at this point in time. I
know people that have had their share of trouble with it as well. Also it
is so code bloated that it runs much slower and you can bet you'll need to
replace some hardware because of lack of drivers. Seems MS is doing its
best to get us used to buying new every couple of years. Do you see any
reason that should be? Maybe the fans and the processors will wear out, but
how can the code?

Back to my problem, please.
Does anyone know enough of how a DVD/CD burner functions so that I can
determine if it is internal to the drive or if it is a MOBO, driver,
problem.

Update if necessary. I notice that the light starts blinking when a CD is
inserted and it sounds like it is spinning. Then the message to insert disk
pops up.
