About stupid customers like yourself?

You are not qualified to judge, malagas.

They tested your card before sending it and you complain.

They did not ask me and I did not ask them to check anything.

If you are that put out I would take your business elsewhere, I would
suspect they would be pleased to lose a cutomer as touchy as you.
I would be quite happy that it had been quality checked and would not be
concerned at all about it being tested before being sent. Pity they didn't
send you a faulty one and put you through the time wasting of having to RMA
it to get it replaced.

The product has been fully tested from the factory. There is absolutely no
reason to break the seal after that; no benefit. It only leaves a stench of
suspicion that something has been fiddled. Even when it works when the customer
plugs it in, he will wonder how long it will work, and whether some features
which he needs in the future might not work.

I once wanted to buy a CCTV camera from maplins, but the assistant went around
and gathered up 10 bits and pieces from the back of store. I wasn't sure that
the item list was complete, so I declined the purchase.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember M saying something
like:

I told CCL that that made the item second hand and I did not want it.
Returned it the same day for a full refund.

Be warned.

I support your action. When buying something i want a new sealed
product too. if i wanted used/opened stuff id use ebay/computer fairs

Ditto. When buying new I expect it to be undisturbed. Sounds like the
shop sent out a customer return or ex-demo unit. It probably would work
perfectly well for years, but there's no way of knowing and I certainly
wouldn't want to take the risk for the full price.
Opened boxes have a place - the 'B' list, beloved of Dabs.

The label said something like 'has been opened to check contents'. The
box otherwise looked brand new...I did not break the seal to check the
contents as I could have been blamed for any damage*.

The sticker was vague enough for me to phone up and ask directly if
the item could have been put in a PC to be tested; the answer was that
it could have been.

Glad to see I'm not alone in may stance. I got the impression that I
was not the first to phone up with a similar complaint.

*Just like the chip and pin system is not used for security, it is
used to shift blame to the customer from the banks.

paranoid crap

The other day during the football match before the second half
started, the players got together in a circle and had a talk.
They were talking about you.

Couldn't be that interesting if they could wait until the second half!
