Maximum number of disk in RAID5 / RAID50, best practices?
Dear group,
we're in the very, very, very early stages of looking at iSCSI SAN. We've seen the SUN 7210 that can be configured with 48 250GB SATA disks. Two are used for OS. How would one configure the remaining disks? If using RIAD50, how many disks can/would you use per RAID5 group? Thanks. |

Hi!

First, RAID groups are created based on performance and other factors which may influence arrays in work. I would not suggest creating large arrays, especially RAID 50 if that config is not needed and analyzed. Best regards, Iggy |
