I would advice you to uninstall all print servers (cups, LPRng, pdq) and
re-install the one you want. They may conflict between themselves. I
have spent days fighting with my Mandrake 9.1 on that. Now it works
perfectly. If you still have problems, go back to pdq temporarily. It is
very robust. But it does not use lp and some software may not like...
