cd/rom icon Dimension 2400

Installed on my Dell dimension 2400, is a cd rom and a dvd/rw, (win xp
home)
When i click open MY COMPUTER , there are Under devices with removable
storage
1 Dvd/rw icon, as well as 2 cd rom drive icons,
Anybody know how to remove the unwanted cd icon ?
It appeared there after the dvd was installed .

What does device manager indicate under "DVD/CDROM drives" ? How many
drives are shown there, out of curiousity....

Was the DVD burner added?

Perhaps Windows is not properly identifying it as a single drive and sees it
as *two* separate drives, a DVD and a CDROM drive.

Have uninstalled then reinstalled the DVD, So now everything is back to
normal .
