HD Failing???
I have a Fujitsu MPG3204AH as a secondary boot drive, the last 2 days it
will not boot. Running Windows XP , drives gets to Windows Logo, a blue screen appears ,with a bunch of stuff on it then goes away, and computer reboots. I have tried using the checkdisk utility in Windows XP, but when the system gets to a certain portion of checking the disk, it stops and reboots. Are there any utilities that I can run from another drive, to diagnose the problems with this Fujitsu drive? I have one from Fujitsu and I need to run it from a dos boot disk, does XP make a Dos boot disk?? Thanks |

Every single one that my company installed has now failed. These drives use a Cirrus Logic Arm chip that the maker encapsulated in a wrong type of epoxy resin. It becomes conductive over time shorting out the chip. There are law suites going on all over the world against Fujitsu because of it. http://www.classactioncounsel.com/fu...litigation.htm http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/archive/27926.html http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/archive/27871.html http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/archive/27112.html http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/archive/28384.html |

Same at my company, but luckily we have a supplier that takes the drives
back from us and pays us a good amount that will easily pay for a higher sized drive. Best thing is we only ever bought 20 from them and they so far have swapped thousands of drives for us. The Company is Micro Peripherals in the UK and they are great. "Alien Zord" wrote in message ... "Just Wondering" wrote in message ble.rogers.com...
