Default Newbie - Raid 0 Questions

This may be a banal question but I am a newbie with no experience of raid
installations

My friend has a pc with an Asus P5B Deluxe motherboard with two 300GB discs
configured as a Raid 0 array -
partioned into C: and D:
He would like to add a third hard disc and still keep the original two disc
array - Is this possible

If not he is considering the following:
Back up the raid array to an external HDD
Remove the raid driver
Restore the back up to C: and D: Drives
Then install the third HDD

If the back up was taken with a disk imaging program, such as Acronis, would
it restore 'correctly' ?

Regards & TIA

If there is a spare sata connector simply plug it in and format it in disk
management

You cannot simply 'un raid' for want of a better word, raid 0 (striped
disks). The file information is spread across both drives. You have in
effect a single 600gb drive, the fact that it has been partitioned is
immaterial.
There is no redundancy in raid 0, one hd fails you lose the lot (all
files/data)
