Personal opinions on all-in-one's requested - HP 2110 vs Canon MPC 190 vs Canon MPC 200

Dear subscribers, You would do me a big favor if You would tell me Your experiences and opinions regarding the printers mentioned above. By the way: Would buying separate parts make a big difference in quality? It is for my parents and an all-in-one looks easier for them, for they are not that young anymore ;-). But if their quality is poor, I would reconsider this. Thanks in advance! Sincere greetings, Rene Well, I got a 2110 a couple of weeks ago. So far the quality has been fine. I've not tested all of the features/quality settings yet though. It copies and scans fairly easily and with decent quality. On standard "normal" quality it prints text or text/color fairly fast. My one dislike is the software has a large install print for a bunch of printer/scanning software. That and the "auto-detect" status program seems kind of pointless when it tells me "! printer is not working or connected!" Well, duh its not turned on. Just seems a waste of ram when windows tells me the same thing (not that much ram tho). Anyway, for $99 after rebate I couldn't turn it down and I've been happy with my purchase so far. I don't have any experience with the cannon models. My old cannon inkjet was a good printer but then I never put it through heavy use. I did get some advice from a printer repair tech that cannon's quality is down these days. HTH, J.S. |

I am a HP PSC 2115 ownwer. This is practically identical to the 2110
model. Pros: Its very easy to use and can work as a photocopier even when its not connected to the computer. Quality and speed are excellent too. Also, HP designs its printers to accept paper in U-feed thus saving space. Finally, its easy to refill. Cons: I have already returned 2 of those. The first because B/W photocopies would produce white lines. The second because when I tried to replace the black cartridge I did not shut the lid firmly and the printer forced the cartidges with such speed that broke some parts inside. The worst thing about this printer is its driver software. You have to install it ALL, its 160MB large (larger than my MS Office footprint) and its slow, unwieldy and parts of it are written in javascript. I bought this for 150 euros. |
