I forgot I changed my nic. Here is my follow up:

Thanks Rich that makes sense because they are different.
I did format the hard drive in the different computer with the
WinXP CD but still got the blue screen. Should I just format
it in the newer computer then reinstall in the other computer
and install WinXP?

Thanks for your help.

Agent, do both computers use the same Motherboard/Chipset. If not then
there's your problem. When you move
a hard drive from the orginal computer to a different one then WinXp is
looking for all the orginal devices and drivers.
Hence the Blue Screen and error messages.

I have an extra computer I want to install XP on. Stupidy I installed
the HDD from it in my primary computer and installed XP on it. I then
re-installed the HDD in the extra computer and got a stop screen. I
even tried Win2000 and it did basically the same thing. WinXP was
installed on the extra machine before and worked for awhile before I
found a virus on it. I decided to reformat and reinstall XP on it.

Although there are only three periferals installed (mouse, keyboard
and monitor) I keep thinking it may be a driver for the monitor which
was purchased last year and is a flat screen. I cannot get past the
stop screen.

I have searched and even went to various links that had stop screen
messages on them but cannot find any with the number (stop screen).

The computer is about four years old so I don't think that's the
problem. I'm thinking about reinstalling the HDD in my newer machine
and simply formatting the drive and not trying to install the OS.

Any ideas?

Thank you.
