Presario 5000 processor upgrade

Default Presario 5000 processor upgrade

I have a Compaq Presario 5000 and was trying to see if i could get a
faster processor for it. Been looking all over the net and couldn't
find
anything. I opened the case but couldn't get much info on any of those
numbers. Here is some of my info, can get more if needed..thanks for
any help.

Johnny-
Without changing the motherboard, your max CPU upgrade is P4 2.0G. You can
only use a Willamette P4 CPU. The newer ones are lower voltage. Key specs to
look for are socket 478, 400mHz, 256mb cache, 1.75v. You will have to use
your existing fan/heatsink. It's not a standard socket 478 type. Here are
the specs..

not worth it but maybe.
