Paul wrote: hi guys i have a problem. i recently bought a fortron fsp400-60pfn power supply ( http://www.fortron-source.com ) . tomshardware.com gave it great reviews so i figured it should be good. Big problems though, first off the connector is 24 pins, and my motherboard accepts the standard 20 pin connector. So i figure it is not a big problem i will just get the adapter. [...snip] A PSU with a 24 pin PSU/MB connector is a specialty/server PSU. Do not use an "adapter" on it. Send it back and get a 20 pin version. I'm in the same boat I bought a FSP460-60PFN and failed to notice the comment that the supply is for Dual AMD ATX Motherboards. Otherwise known as ATXGES. I bought a AMDXP 2000+ and a MSI K7 Motherboard which needs a ATX12V Type Power supply. I'm frustrated and I'm really concidering having an adapter made by a local electronics store. I believe between the P1 and P2 cables on the supply have everything needed to provide power and work properly. Here are some links that give a good pin out of power supplies and such. http://store.yahoo.com/power-on/at46atxgespo.html#amd http://store.yahoo.com/power-on/atx12v400gn.html#conn If your going to get a cable built you might want to screen capture the mouse pop-ups. Use the print-screen button and then paste it to a image editor. -Ethan |
