In which case, yes, the price has gone up.

Yes - most definately. Ordered 50Gb of DDR2 over the last few weeks and the
cost per stick has risen by about £6.

Ebuyer memory prices change almost daily (both up and down)

Every year memory prices always seems to go up in October or early November
and drop back down in January, has anyone else noticed this?

Tony.

But why would Christmas season have any effect on memory prices?

Oh, and ebuyer isn't the cheapest place for memory anyway, is it?

Memory is now a comodity product. There are only a handful
manufacturers of Dram chips. The price is ever fluctuating, there is
even a Dram Exchange, where memory chips are traded.

Whilst it is mainly a supply and demand business, often demand is far
greater than supply, hence some drastic price fluctuations.
Unfortunately if demand is low, supply thins out and prices rise again.
It has been known for manufacturers to stock pile products, so as to
keep the prices up.

Saying that prices have been at an all time low lately....the rest is
history.

Always goes up this time of year because demand increases.
