Don't worry. They'll get it right eventually.

XP was the best it ever got. It's been all downhill since.

As not entirely rewritten from the kernel standpoint, but of an XP
interface, based NT Technology from WindowsNT. I never ran with WNT
prior to XP.

Nope, Windows 7 x64 Pro is the best ever.

Windows XP x64 Pro had serious device driver issues (been there, done that).

IDK about that, but in 6 more months, time expires. Then you're out of
luck.

I know that the date has continually been pushed down the road,
but what is the current last date to "update" to Windows 10?

What's the last day of extended support for Windows 7 SP1 ?

The way things are going, the option should still
work until then.

Microsoft doesn't like to make announcements, if it
means "committing" to something. They like things
loosey-goosey so they can change them in the
blink of an eye.

Is your machine even suited to running Windows 10 ?
You might be getting all excited for nothing.

I have a single core laptop, and while it accepted
a Windows 10 Upgrade, it isn't exactly a speed demon.

Not true. Nothing expires and no luck runs out. Windows 7 will continue
humming right along.

Is true.

Nothing expires

When Windows 7 reaches its End of Life phase on January 14, 2020,
Microsoft will stop releasing updates and patches for the operating
system

and no luck runs out.

No fixes, no luck.

Windows 7 will continue humming right along.

Infected with Bluekeep or who knows what else.

No, not true, despite your fears. If it bothers you, though, then by all
means migrate your systems to another OS.

Face the facts.

You sound like an argumentative female. I never work for women.
