Designjet HP111R - faulty

I'm posting from Cornwall in the UK

My Designjet HP111R has just started posting an 8611 error code. I just
don't know how to fault-find or resolve this and the cost of a call out,
let alone the cost of replacement parts, appears to be prohibitively
expensive*.

The plotter is just under two years old and has had light use. It's in
near-showroom condition. It seems a terrible shame to consign it to
landfill.

Does anyone have any pointers or know of a company that would be happy
to part-ex or refurbish?

* ~£200+VAT call out charge for the first hour + parts. Depending on
what's wrong, of course, major parts £150 - 200+VAT
