Dell laptop electrical cords interchangable?
The power cord on my OOOLLLLDDD Inspiron 5000 just broke. Is this
something I can go down to Best Buy or Circuit City and buy off the shelf or will I need to get one from Dell directly??

I would first search on line for a universal laptop power adapter. Radio
Shack may carry them as well. However, to be absolutely safest, I would order a new poser supply from DELL. This way you are guaranteed compatibility, and, if your laptop is still under warranty, it will not be voided if anything should happen. "Kurt Ullman" wrote in message ... I would first search on line for a universal laptop power adapter. Dell laptops don't use universal power adapters, there's an additional line for the power supply and computer to exchange capability information, and Dell machines won't work without Dell supplies. Get a real Dell replacement.

ebay is the answer for a machine this old. a new 'unirversal' type ac
