Default P4 2.4 running at 1.8

Hi,

I'm a newbie here and this not
really relavent but I didn't know where else to post it.

My P4 2.4 MgHz chip runs @ 1.8 MgHz no matter what I try.

I bought a new machine with a
Pc-Chips M925ALU V7.3 Motherboard.

http://www.pcchipsusa.com/prod-m925aluv71.asp

As you can see from the link it can run at both
a 400 & 533 FSB. My bios version is 7.3 with rom 030310s.

I have a P4 2.4 MgHz chip that is supposed to run at 533.
My ram is 2 x 512 Mb DDR 2700.

Per the manual below
ftp://ftp.pcchips.com.tw/manual/m925/925s73.zip

the north bridge is a VIA P4M266A.

Yes I have set the Ram @ 133 MgHz.
Didn't help.

Has anyone seen this
Need Help.

Theo

Well, without having checked the manual, your P4 2.4 is running at 400 MHz
instead of 533, of course. CHeck your BIOS, or check the manual, to see if
there is a jumper to switch from 400 to 533...

Bingo. That was it.
The configuration was correct but
when I swapped out one of the jumbers for
a dead hard drives jumper it kicked into 533 mode.

Can jumpers be defective? LOL.

Thanx Thomas.

Umm! needed a micro atx board and I've used their
motherboards in the past. Very stable and abuse resistant.
