Event ID 9
I have a Dell Inspiron 7500, (laptop), running Win2K SP3, using an
IBM-DJSA-210 HD. Lately, the drive has been making loud clicking noises during what I believe to be disk access. I've also been receiving the following entry in my event log: Event Type: Error Event Source: atapi Event Category: None Event ID: 9 Date: 7/24/2003 Time: 6:17:46 PM User: N/A Computer: USMSLAP01 Description: The device, \Device\Ide\IdePort0, did not respond within the timeout period. Data: 0000: 0f 00 10 00 01 00 64 00 ......d. 0008: 00 00 00 00 09 00 04 c0 .......À 0010: 00 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........ 0018: a9 1c 00 00 00 00 00 00 ©....... 0020: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........ 0028: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........ 0030: 00 00 00 00 07 00 00 00 ........ I saw a thread in 4/03, but wasn't able to post a reply? Any ideas on troubleshooting this? I went to support.microsoft.com, but the document I found was specific to SCSI not IDE. Thanks, Jon. |
