No video on Compaq Deskpro SFF
I had traded-in a non-working Compaq Deskpro Small Form Factor system.
800MHz P3/128Mb/15GB/CD-ROM. This does not give a video signal from either the integrated video card or a PCI graphics card that I inserted. No sound beeps but green LEDs on the motherboard, fans working, floppy seek and hard disk access on boot up. I've reset the BIOS. There appears to be just traces on the motherboard where the video chip and memory should be close to the VGA connector. Were these systems ever sold without the integrated video? I've removed the memory and data cables and still no sound beeps. Did these systems have a speaker or beeper? Instead of breaking it up for spares, I'd like to keep this neat little system, if only I could get it working. Can anybody help me in my quest? Thanks, Jonathan |
