Default 4350 Printing slow tray 2 fast tray 3

Has anyone seen this?
The HP4350 prints quickly (55ppm) to tray 3.
Manually select printing to go to tray 2 and the printing slows down to
half that speed?
Very strange...

Check the printer menus to see what it thinks is in tray 2. It's
possible to tell some of those printers to slow down for card stock, or
maybe go faster for transparencies.

Also some printers can be set to different fuser modes which can affect the
speed of printing, some of these are quite complex to set up.
