Compaq M700 Notebook doesn't power off?
Testing this notebook, it does not have a HDD but boots to knoppix
fine, problem is, it does not power off even when I hold down the power button for any lenght of time, only way to power off the unit is to pull the AC cord, help?

What happens when you use Knoppix to turn it off? Does it hang somewhere? I think, with the live CD, there's a big shutdown routine, at the end of which, the CD is ejected, and you are invited to remove the CD, close the tray and press enter.
