Likely cannot take the form of an "add-in" to any existing platform. Also
likely imposes some constraints on system design/configuration (eg: restricted
to using integrated video adapter and nic). A "one-size-fits-all" constrained
platform for business drones, maybe not so good for power users who want
multiple video screens and network connections.

otoh, as long as there's a healthy hard drive inside, it's *way* better than
the thankfully-still-deader-than-Franco "thin client" ;-)

Mainly a business desktop certification scheme. vPro desktops are
supposed to have features that make them easier to manage within a
work-environment with hundreds and thousands of other PCs in the same
company. Intel specifies some minimal features that must be present on
the PC to be vPro certified.

As has been pointed out elsewhere, this program has existed in various
forms in the past too. It's just a new marketing name for something
that's already been around, with a few added features.

Yeah, I know, I read the Intel webpage link (that somebody else gave) of
this thing too, and even I couldn't figure out what it was for even
though I really knew what it was for. :-)
