Default Trying to understand the EAX control panel on Audigy

Can someone make sense of the EAX control panel on the Audigy?

There's a top section with several categories - ENV, EQ, FX etc. and
to the right a bunch of settings that seem to duplicate the settings
below on the "Master" section....???

How does all this work?

Thanks!

Audigy 1, under Audio HQEAX control panel. Top section says "Audio
Effects" with 2 drop down windows. The short one has 4 options -
Custom, Envelope, EQ, FX then next to it another wider drop down list
with the various options - No Effects, Auditorium, Ballpark etc.

Then another section with 4 tabs - Master, Source, Midi, Options

Kinda self - explanatory isn't it ? I don't have the two drop down boxes
, just one for the effects. Try selecting one of them and play some
audio, anything , you'll see what they do. For the tabs, master lets
you configure and add effects like chorus, flanging and reverb. Source,
will let you (guesss what) choose the source of what the effects will be
applied to , midi lets you configure midi (I don't use midi) , etc.. BTW
, all this is in the manual you get when you buy an SB card.

If it was, I wouldn't be asking ;-)

Do you have an Audigy?

What doesn't make sense to me is why there's a drop down box for
Reverb under the Master tab that has the exact same set of categories
as the drop down box in the top Audio Effects section, and how one is
supposed to use the 4 parameters in the Audio Effects section -
Custom, ENV, EQ, FX.
