My buddy and I both have SCs (in my case had as I have since switched
to a Revolution) and both of us recorded from vinyl regularly using
the card with zero problems. Both of us have Athlons on Via-based
boards.

Agreed, except I have 3 SC's in a variety of systems including an original
Via/AMD chipset MB from when Athlons were introduced...
