Default booting form keyboard

Hi all,

At my office we have PC that we can boot just by pressing a key on the
keyboard. I want to do the same at home but I don`t know how? In fact
I don`t even know if my motherboard support this feature. My board is
an intel 82865G. I`ve look in the bios and I didn`t found what I was
looking for. I`ve also check in the board manual, nothing there... And
finally I`ve google around the web/newgroups for info, but no luck.

I would appreciate any help

82865G is a graphics controller chipset. Kind of difficult to determine the
motherboard from that.

The enhanced keyboard support has been around for hundreds of years. (Win95
days, if I remember correctly. Certainly Win98.) The probability is high
that your motherboard's PS/2 (or USB) keyboard connector supports the scan
codes.

Here's a little info from Micro$oft's site on keyboard scan codes for sleep,
wake and boot that might be of some use. The keyboard has to be able to
generate these scan codes. A generic (read: standard) keyboard won't have
the necessary support.

And a little more info on Enhanced Keyboards:
