Default Memory Advice for GA-X38-DQ6

I'm building a computer and need advice on what memory to get. Systems
specs a
CPU: Core 2 Quad Q9550 with a FSB of 1,333MHz (due in 1/08)
Motherboard: GA-X38-DQ6; supports 1,066MHz memory and 1,333MHz FSB
RAM: 4 Gb of DDR2

I will NOT be overclocking. I've heard that it is preferable to run memory
synchronously with FSB, especially on the Core 2. In this case that means
DDR2 667 (PC 5400) if I'm running dual channel, I believe. My questions
a

1. Should I go DDR2 1,066 (PC 8500) given its speed differential over DDR2
667, even though it means running the memory asynchronously. And if so,
why?

2. For 4Gb, the obvious choice would be 2x2Gb sticks. However, latency on
the 2Gb sticks is higher (CAS 4/5) vs. the 1Gb sticks (CAS 3/4). But I've
also heard that, all other things equal, two sticks generally perform better
than four sticks, which would partially offset the lower latency of the
smaller sticks. Any advice?

3. What is the difference between PC 5400 and PC 5300 memory?

These Boards are mainly DDR 3, plus I suggest to wait a little I am sure
when you build, there will be newer and better sysboards at the time you
make it!!!
