Default Converting old external CD burner

I had an old Iomega external CD burner whose motor stopped working. I
took it apart and tried to plug an INTERNAL DVD burner to the rear
board of the old Iomega (assuming that was the board that made it
capable of being external). It didn't work. Any ideas? I did switch
the DVD burner to the master jumper.

Board deceased as well? PowerSupply dead?

I did switch the DVD burner to the master jumper.
