Nearly extinct? Resurrected might be better. As users get dumber
these tricks become viable again. Even with macros disabled by
default, people will enable them when prompted. The criminals' job
has never been easier.

As they get dumber? At what point did they start showing signs of
intelligence? I must have missed it. it's hard to call another a
criminal for being smarter than ... what passes for average human
intelligence these days.
