Brocade switches SMI-S compliant?
I'm piecing together a project using the SMI-S specification as a basis for
what I want to accomplish. A part of this project will be to do zoning operations on an FC fabric based on Brocade switches. A google search indicates that Brocade is commited to delivering products adhering to the SMI-S spec. However, when I tried to find to find any more specific information by searching www.brocade.com for the keyword SMI-S, 0 hits was returned. Brocade have a Fabric API with developer program, but I couldn't find any more information except to request to become such a partner, which is probably not what I want to do anyway. I have to admit I haven't read all of the SMI-S specification, but it seems zoning operations are part of it. If so, and Brocade does in fact support SMI-S, there shouldn't be anything else to it, or should it? I'll just have an SMI-S compliant application running on a management server issuing the relevant calls to the switch(es) over an IP network. Something tells me it won't be quite so easy. Any pointers would be appreciated. /charles |
