Default p4c800-e does not recognize some drives CONTINUED

Eddwnn,

make sure you have your drive are cables orientated the right way. If you
have your cables reversed then the system won't detect the drives. Typical
side effect of having the connectors reversed is the disk activity light
will be hard on. General rule of thumb is that the pin1 (red stripe on most
40/80pin IDE cables) should be near the drive power plug (right hand side of
drive connector). I think on Floppy drives it's the opposite.

Also check your drive's drive select jumpers. You may have a Master/Slave
conflict. I generally jumper all my drives to Cable Select (CS).

Good luck.

Thanks. I had two problems. In BIOS, I had only one pata channel
enabled. Also, the floppy drive was connected wrong, even though I had
checked it over and over and I thought it would only go one way.

Appreciate it,
eddwnn
